In Conversation With...Chris Maloney

We had a chat recently with X Factor 2012 star Chris Maloney. We discussed his highs and lows of the show, what he's done since the final and what advice he would give to future contestants.

This is what happened when UK Reality Stars met Chris Maloney...

Hi Chris. I'll start by asking why did you decide to go on X Factor and what did you hope to gain from the show?
I decided to enter the X Factor because I loved to sing and hoped to gain my confidence back.
You reached the final in 2012 - what was your highlight and lowlight of the show?
The highlights of the final was my duet with Gary Barlow, the low light was probably being unwell and signed off by the x factor doctor and not being able to perform the group ensemble the next evening.
Which of the contestants, if any, are you still in contact with?
I keep in contact with all except MK1 and Lucy.
What would you say the show has done for your music career?
X factor is a great platform. If it wasn't for the show I Wouldn't be releasing my 1st UK single My Heart Belongs To You on 6th October.
Would you do the show again in hindsight?
It took me 5 years building up the courage to audition so No lol once is quite enough
What advice would you give to people thinking about applying to X Factor?
Go for it! I gave up my dream years ago, but my dream is now alive due to my time on X Factor so I'm glad I auditioned.  BUT Be prepared for hard work and you have to be of sound mind to get you through as there will be a lot of lies written about you in the press that you will have no control over so you need to be strong to deal with that.

A true X Factor legend...here's some of our highlights from Chris!
